A part of any good conversion is the addition of driver & passenger swivel bases. The ability to rotate the front row of seating is extremely advantageous. It allows the front cab space to be merged into the main body of the conversion creating a large dining or relaxation area for you and your guests.
Single Swivel Bases
At Camper Envy we have scoured the market for swivel bases, sourcing and testing a variety of units from all over Europe. The swivel used in your conversion is easy to use, robust, practical and sturdy. It comes fully crash tested and with TUV approval. Like all elements of your conversion it will be installed to the strictest standards and will come with a VSCCS compliance certificate ensuring Australian compliance.
During the installation of the swivel the driver’s seat base needs some modification to the handbrake housing to allow the swivel to be operated. The seat bases on both the passenger and drivers side will be carpet lined in matching material to the van lining to provide a perfect finish.
Double Swivel Bases
For those wanting to choose the option of accommodating 2 passengers up front there is a solution. The double swivel for the VW T6 bench seat has been developed to full TUV standards. This crash tested design is self-levelling to allow for the sloping floor of the interior cab. Its low friction mechanism makes operation effortless. This option comes with the added benefit of preserving the significant under seat storage that comes with the VW bench.
